Products Per Carton Calculator: Optimize Box Packing

Learn how to calculate optimal products per carton using rotation strategies and space optimization to reduce shipping costs.

1Basic Calculation Method

The basic method is to divide each carton dimension by the corresponding product dimension, then multiply the results.

// Basic Formula

Products = floor(CL/PL) × floor(CW/PW) × floor(CH/PH)

C = Carton dims, P = Product dims, floor = round down

Example Calculation

Carton: 60cm × 40cm × 40cm

Product: 10cm × 10cm × 20cm

  • Length: 60 ÷ 10 = 6 units
  • Width: 40 ÷ 10 = 4 units
  • Height: 40 ÷ 20 = 2 layers
  • Total: 6 × 4 × 2 = 48 products

2Product Rotation Strategy

By rotating products, you may find better arrangements. A rectangular product has 6 possible orientations.

Carton 60×40×40cm, Product 15×10×8cm:

15×10×8

4×4×5 = 80
